Bil Breast Recon DIEP A04757
45 yo found to have an infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the left breast. Treatment required chemotherapy and radiation therapy to the left chest wall. Because she had BRCA1 genetic mutation she underwent bilateral mastectomy and also hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of ovaries to prevent ovarian cancer). One year later she underwent delayed bilateral breast reconstruction with DIEP microvascular flaps. Photos are taken five months later at time of nipple reconstruction.
